Nicolai Hvilshøj Reedtz, commonly known as dev1ce is a Danish professional Counter-Strike: Global Offensive player. Dev1ce is one of the most respectable CS: GO players. He and his former teammates at Astralis became the first to win 4 CS: GO majors including 3 majors in a row. Dev1ce is currently signed with Ninjas in Pyjamas as an AWPer.

dev1ce’s Career

Nicolai “dev1ce” Hvilshøj Reedtz was born on 8 September 1995 in Vejle, Region of Southern Denmark. dev1ce started playing video games as a teenager with his brother and he was talented at games. Apart from gaming dev1ce was good at sports also an exceptional badminton player. In fact, just at the of 14, he was approached by many big clubs in Denmark that wanted him to play for them. But he turned their offer down due to a knee injury and his passion for video games.

Nicolai made his first official CS: GO debut as a temporary stand-in with the Swedish team Fnatic in the ESL Major Series One– Spring 2013: Cup #4 in Mach 2013. After that, he started playing for the Copenhagen Wolves team. The team later went on to win many small tournaments. And at the biggest event of 2013, DreamHack Winter 2013. He and his team finished fifth to eighth place.

In 2014, dev1ce was signed by the United Kingdom organization Team Dignitas. Despite dev1ce’s incredible performance the team never won anything big and always falls short by a margin. He was named the 20th best player in CS: GO.

In 2015, Team Dignitas at the time was bought by Team SoloMid. dev1ce performed exceptionally well with the new organization and won many tournaments, was also named 3rd best player in the world by HLTV.

At the end of 2015, dev1ce and his teammates separated from TSM and continued playing together without any organization under the named Question Mark. In early 2016, they created their own organization called “Astralis”. At the end of 2016, dev1ce was again named 3rd best player in the world. In the year 2017, Astralis went on to win the major tournament ELEAGUE Major 2017 and they claimed the 1st team ranking in the world in 2017. In 2018 dev1ce surpassed the GeT_RiGhT’s record of most MVP earned in a single year.

Dev1ce and later won a total of four Majors and an MVP title at StarLadder Major: Berlin 2019.

On 23 April 2021. Dev1ce was signed by Ninjas in Pyjamas.
