S1mple’s Career
Oleksandr Olegovich Kostyliev, known as s1mple, was born on 2nd October 1997 in Ukraine. His family name is of Russian origin. S1mple has been fond of gaming since his childhood days. S1mple played his first counter-strike game at the age of 4 when his brother recommended him one. Simple has been such a big fan of counter-strike that he picked up Counter-Strike: Global Offensive on the day of its release in 2012, and joined his first professional team a year later.
S1mple’s first professional team was called LAN DODGERS, but later he was signed by Courage Gaming. In September 2014, joined a large organization called Hellraisers. Where he got to play with players ANGE1, Dosia, Kucher, and Markeloff who S1mple considers his idol.
Despite being one of the best players in the CS: GO history, S1mple’s career has been no stranger to controversies. In January 2015, was removed from Hellraisers due to his inflammatory comments about Germans. And soon he also received an ESL wire ban for cheating. S1mple claimed that the ban he received was for cheating in Counter-Strike 1.6. However, records from ESL prove that it was indeed an in-game ban when S1mple played CS: GO. Later his ban was extended till 2016 due to ban evasion. Soon after he was signed by Flipsid3 tactics, but due to the team’s semi-final exit at ESWC 2015, S1mple wasn’t happy with the result and left the team. At that time of his career S1mple was known for being quite “toxic” or rude to his teammates.
Later in early 2016 S1mple moved to America and joined Team Liquid. After he joined Team Liquid, Team Liquid managed to the semifinals of MLG Major Championship: Columbus. in the next major also managed to become the first-ever North American team to reach a major final. After some time S1mple ended up leaving Team Liquid and joined Natus Vincere. With Na’Vi, S1mple won ESL One: New York 2016 and was awarded the #4 Placement in the HLTV top 20.
