Shroud’s Career

Michael “Shroud” Grzesiek started his career as Counter-Strike: Global Offensive professional player with several ESEA teams like; Exertus eSports and Manajuma and soon he was signed by compLexity Gaming as a Stand-in, and later he joined Cloud9 after the compLexity Gaming roster was bought by Cloud9 in 2014. Shroud had a decent run with Cloud9 and he led his team to several first and second-position finishes. In August 2017, Shroud announced that he will be moving from Cloud9’s active roster, and in April 2018, he decided to leave Cloud9 and retired from CS: GO pro scene.

After retiring from CS: GO pro scene Shroud decided to focus on his career as a Youtuber and Twitch streamer and became one of the most popular streamers and YouTubers around the world. As of November 2021, Shroud has gone past a total of 10,000 hours streamed and has acquired over 539 million total views. And he is the 5th most followed streamer on Twitch with 9.8 million followers.

Shroud did leave Twitch for sometime after signing an exclusive deal to stream only on Microsoft Streaming platform Mixer on On October 24, 2019, but the things didn’t work out for the Mixer and on On June 22, 2020, Microsoft announced that they’ll be shutting down Mixer resulting Shroud coming back to stream exclusively on Twitch.

Awards and Nominations

In 2017 Shroud was nominated for Trending Gamer by The Game Awards.

In 2019, Esports Awards nominated Shroud for the Streamer of the Year, at that same year Shroud also won the Content Creator of the Year Award by The Game Awards.

in 2020, Shroud was nominated for the Best Live Streamer by the 10th Streamy Awards.
